During the 60's the club began a "Building Fund" overseen by Bruce Pelz. The fund eventually got big enough that the club ended up buying its own property in 1973. In 1977 the LASFS replaced it with a larger clubhouse at the current location in North Hollywood.

The current property consists of two buiildings: Freehafer Hall and the Forrest J Ackerman Building (also known as the 4sj building). The Freehafer Hall is the main meeting room, and the Forrest J Ackerman Building houses the library, computers, kitchen (small but usefull), and a small gathering place outside the library.
