In addition to announcements of general interest and the LASFS calendar, De Profundis also includes the LASFS meeting minutes ("The Menace of the LASFS") and the minutes of the preceding month's Board of Directors meeting.

And speaking of the Minutes, they can also be found at the LASFS LiveJournal community Search for "Menace" and follow the link in parentheses (e.g., "Adric died for our sins" for the Menace of meeting #3683). This is a good place find minutes of the most recent LASFS meetings, which may not have been published in De Profundis yet.

The West Hollywood Book Fair.

LASFS ran a booth and panel at this fair in 2007, registering as a writers society. De Profundis #417 (October, 2007) noted: Our guests will be Jerry Pournelle, Todd McCaffrey, Mary Jorgensen, and possibly Steven Barnes. We have suggested some programming ideas to the Festival coordinators. We will have two tables: one for our promotional display, the other for book distribution.

Afterwards Fred Patten commented, "Arlene Satin reported that the LASFS' booth and panel at the West Hollywood Book Fair the previous Sunday had been very popular, and that the new free LASFS bookmark designed by Frank Wu had been premiered there."
